A commented list of Scaphopoda (Mollusca) found along the Brazilian coast, with two new synonymies in the genus Gadila Gray, 1847 Biota Neotropica
Souza,Leonardo Santos de; Araújo,Isabella Campos Vieira; Caetano,Carlos Henrique Soares.
This review aims to present an updated checklist of scaphopods, based mainly on literature database. There is a total of 40 species (six families) for Brazil, including information about the distribution and bathymetric range of each taxon. We propose two synonyms with the aid of morphometry of the shell, for the genus Gadila: G. longa as junior synonym of G. elongata and G. robusta as junior synonym of G. pandionis.

Annotations to the figured scallops (Mollusca, Bivalvia, Pectinidae) in Gualtieri’s “Index Testarum Conchyliorum”, deposited in the Museo di Storia Naturale e del Territorio at Calci (Pisa, Italy) Naturalis
Dijkstra, H.H..
An overview is given of the Pectinidae types present in the Gualtieri collection. In Gualtieri (1742) 46 figures (pl. 73 - 15 figs, pl. 74 - 25 figs, pl. 98 – 2 figs, and pl. 99 – 4 figs) show specimens of Pectinidae. Linnaeus (1758) referred to 10 Pectinidae species figured by Gualtieri. Of these, 8 species (7 paralectotypes and one syntype, herein recognised) were traced in the Gualtieri collection, and 2 species (Ostrea peslutrae and Ostrea maxima) were not found. Subsequently, Gmelin (1791) referred to 33 Pectinidae species (12 described by Linnaeus in 1758, one species described by Müller in 1776), and 20 species (13 species were traced, all herein recognised as syntypes, and 7 species were not found) named by himself. No direct evidence was found of...

Assessment of inter- and intra-cultivar variations in olive using SSR markers Scientia Agricola
Ipek,Ahmet; Barut,Erdogan; Gulen,Hatice; Ipek,Meryem.
Olive (Olea europaea L.) production in the world has been made by using many cultivars, and the genetic uniformity of commercial cultivars is important for standard olive oil and table olive production. The genetic variation among and within commonly cultivated olive cultivars in Turkey was analyzed using SSR markers. A total of 135 leaf samples were collected from 11 commonly cultivated olive cultivars from 11 provinces in four geographical regions of Turkey. Seven SSR primer pairs generated 46 SSR markers, and the number of SSR markers per primer pair ranged from 4 (UDO-14) to 9 (GAPU-89) with an average of 6.57. This high level of SSR polymorphism suggests that olive production in Turkey has been made using genetically diverse olive cultivars and this...

Boer, P..
The synonymy of Plagiolepis obscuriscapa Santschi, 1923 with P. pygmaea (Latreille, 1798) is proposed. The use of pigmentation as only discriminating character in ant taxonomy is criticised.

Revision of the Palaearctic Gasteruption assectator aggregate, with special reference to Sweden (Hymenoptera, Gasteruptiidae) Naturalis
Johansson, N.; Achterberg, C. van.
The Palaearctic species of the Gasteruption assectator aggregate (Hymenoptera, Gasteruptiidae) are revised and three species are recognised. Two species are re-instated: Gasteruption boreale (Thomson, 1883), stat. n. and G. nigritarse (Thomson, 1883), stat. n., and both are excluded from the synonymy with G. assectator (Linnaeus, 1758). The general distribution of both species is given for Europe and in detail for Sweden. A key to the valid Palaearctic species of the Gasteruption assectator aggregate is given; key characters and primary types are illustrated. Four new synonyms are listed: Foenus fumipennis Thomson, 1883, Trichofoenus breviterebrae Watanabe, 1934, and Gasteruption margotae Madl, 1987, are synonymized with Gasteruption boreale (Thomson,...
